Are you looking for a fast, secure, and convenient way to recycle your used or unwanted cell phones, batteries, chargers, and similar items? We have an easy, simple to use program that allows you to walk into to any of our City buildings, drop off your items, and have them recycled. It’s that easy.
The City of Montebello has joined forces with Call2Recycle, North America’s first and largest battery stewardship program. When we were looking at recycling programs for our residents and businesses, batteries and cell phones were among the hazardous waste that most people do not think about when recycling. Most often they are tossed in the trash without thought. We are looking to change this by reaching out to Montebello residents and businesses and providing them with a fast and environmentally friendly method of recycling these types of waste materials.
Since 1996, Call2Recycle has diverted more than 75 million pounds of rechargeable batteries and cell phones from landfills. That is why we selected them for our City. Together, we are providing another resource for our residents and businesses and providing you with the resources necessary to help the City meet our State mandated goals.
Battery Types That Can Be Recycled Include: Nickel Cadmi-um (Ni-Cd), Lithium Ion (Li-Ion), Small Sealed Lead Acid Batteries (SSLA/Pb), Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH), and Nickel Zinc (Ni-ZN).
Cell phones, chargers, and accessories can also be recycled at all of the City’s locations.
Please visit the City’s website or go to any City office, building, or location for additional information and drop off locations.
